"This is a wonderful opportunity for our team to experience a different culture and one of the greatest cities in the world in Barcelona, Spain. I know we will also take advantage of this time together to bond and strengthen team chemistry leading into the 2018-19 season. We are thankful to Northeastern University, President Aoun and our Athletic Administration, especially Peter Roby and Regina Sullivan for making this trip possible.

"I am excited to go to Ireland for a training trip. It’s going to be a great experience! I am very thankful to be getting this opportunity to swim and to have a cultural experience at the same time. I look forward to discovering a new country with my teammates and to also pursue a journey of my own

"The team’s trip to Ireland for our training camp is a dream come true! Dublin will provide us a city rich in history and culture as well as a world class training facility. By staying in downtown Dublin, our team will be immersed in a vibrant, magical and welcoming community. We can explore and education ourselves on the uniqueness of Ireland and its people. All the while, we will practice in the country’s national training center and be exposed to and learn from their best swimmers, divers and coaches. This global experience will enrich our knowledge and understanding in and out of the pool.

"The trip to England was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced as a student-athlete. It was an honor to represent our university abroad, and to foster relationships with the welcoming and generous residents of Henley on Thames. This experience allowed our team to share in the global learning that defines Northeastern, deepening our engagement with and appreciation for this incredible institution.

Havana, Cuba
Sunday, December 18, 2016 to Friday, December 23, 2016

Max Burt
"What an eye opening experience it was! The people of Cuba always have smiles on their faces even through their tougher times. That taught myself and our team a little bit about staying positive when you are hit with adversity and to take nothing for granted! The trip showed us to appreciate what we have and not think about what we don’t have. It was a truly amazing experience that I hope every Northeastern student athlete gets to experience.
"

"The opportunity to go to Cuba at the end of my senior year was truly the best possible ending to my athletic career at Northeastern. I got to travel to a land trapped in time with some of my favorite people and gain experiences that will last us a lifetime. I think it is so important that high-level athletes—who typically have schedules which prevent them from traveling abroad—get the chance to broaden their views on the world and make the realization that there are so many cultures and lifestyles that we can learn lessons from. It was truly a chance to exchange global views while simultaneously playing a simple ball game together.
"

Mike Glavine
"These global experiences are once in a lifetime opportunities for our student athletes. It was exciting for them to learn and share the cultural experience of Cuba and also play our sport. Our trip to Cuba was a great way to enhance our players' education and co-op experience. The trip created a memorable experience for our players and coaches that we will never forget. I am so thankful our program was able to take this trip and hope we can share this experience with teams in the future.

Belfast, Northern Ireland
Friday, November 27, 2015 to Saturday, November 28, 2015

John Stevens
"The game of hockey has given me so many great experiences throughout my life, and there is one in particular that will stick with me. Our trip to Belfast was a once in a lifetime opportunity to share and experience life, hockey, culture and academics in a foreign country. Being able to influence and experience the amazing Northern Irish culture allowed our team to bond on a new level. This trip was the starting point to one of the most amazing runs and seasons that I have ever been apart of.
"

Jim Madigan
"Our trip to Belfast was a trip of a lifetime. We were able to enjoy a first-class hockey experience but equally important was being able to explore another part of the world rich with history and tradition. Our players had the unique opportunity to learn more about the history and culture of Belfast and Northern Ireland, visit young students in two elementary schools and interact daily with the wonderful people of Belfast who welcomed us so graciously into their city. This experience broadened our student-athletes perspective on life and help them realize the importance of appreciating different views and cultures.

Men's Henley, United Kingdom
Sunday, June 30, 2013 to Saturday, July 6, 2013
Justin Jones
"My time at the Royal Henley Regatta in the summer of 2013 as a rising senior oarsman at Northeastern was perhaps the most impactful experience of my collegiate career. In terms of global exposure, there is no higher stage that collegiate men’s rowing can compete at, and our racing campaign through this regatta saw us racing international national team squads exclusively. The success we experienced there through multiple wins and record-setting performances was an excellent mirror for the Empower campaign that was concurrently taking place, and served to exemplify the University’s evolving position as a global force.
