Men's Henley, United Kingdom

June 30th, 2013 to July 6th, 2013

Northeastern rowing returned to the world stage in 2013 to participate in the Henley Royal Regatta. England's famed River Thames has provided the storied NU program with some of its most memorable moments. The 2013 appearance was Northeastern's seventh in the renowned event.

"This week at the Henley Royal Regatta has been a huge success in every possible way that one might measure it,” said athletic director Peter Roby at the conclusion of the trip. “People have recognized our presence here — from the participation of alumni, to the way our crews have performed, to the way we've represented Northeastern. It is all that we had hoped it would be. It is motivation for us to continue to do all we can to position our men's rowing program for national and international prominence and continue to engage our alumni."

"My time at the Royal Henley Regatta in the summer of 2013 as a rising senior oarsman at Northeastern was perhaps the most impactful experience of my collegiate career. In terms of global exposure, there is no higher stage that collegiate men’s rowing can compete at, and our racing campaign through this regatta saw us racing international national team squads exclusively. The success we experienced there through multiple wins and record-setting performances was an excellent mirror for the Empower campaign that was concurrently taking place, and served to exemplify the University’s evolving position as a global force."
